Alec Cameron

Experience

Alec Cameron is a commercial and IP lawyer with over fifteen years’ experience acting for technology, media and entertainment businesses. Having qualified as a barrister, he spent his early career in private practice with Simmons & Simmons before moving in-house where he has worked for many leading technology, media and entertainment organisations including Getty Images and Telefónica Digital. He returned to private practice in 2019 and now advises a wide client base across the commercial, technology and media sectors.

  • Alec is a practising barrister regulated by the Bar Standards Board and is also an accredited mediator and member of the Society of Mediators.

Achievements

Alec is the author of articles on intellectual property law for leading publications including The Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, The International In-House Counsel Journal, The Trademark Lawyer Magazine and The Copyright Lawyer Magazine. He is a regular panelist at IP law conferences and has written extensively on digital copyright law and IP anti-piracy issues.

Membership of Bar Pro Bono Unit.

Other Interests

Alec lives in Cambridge with his wife and two children. He is a political news junkie and during lockdown has rediscovered his passion for reading and cycling.
